Social Security Number Not Required for Admission

A student is not required to provide a Social Security Number (SSN) when applying for admission to Minnesota State College Southeast. If a student chooses not to provide this number, their applications will still be processed.

The SSN is requested for the purposes of administration, program evaluation, and consumer and alumni data. The SSN may also be used to create summary information about Minnesota State programs through data matches with other state agencies.

Students are required to submit their SSN when applying for financial aid.
