ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)

Congress enacted the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990. The college strives to adhere to the requirements of the Act by: 

• Providing access to education for persons with disabilities as part of the college's mission.
• Assuring students and the public that compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act is a priority of the college.
• Preparing, publishing, and distributing policy statements and procedures to comply with the letter and spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Taking prompt action to implement the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Providing a procedure for individuals to address issues of the with 'compliance or noncompliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act that affect them. The Americans with Disabilities Act and the grievance procedure are on file at each campus.

Requesting Accommodations

A reasonable accommodation is any modification or adjustment to a program environment that makes it possible for qualified individuals with a disability to have an equal educational opportunity. Enrolled students who have a documented disability that significantly limits one or more major life activities may be eligible for services.

Students requiring accommodation while attending college should fill out the online Accessibility Registration Form.

Minnesota State College Southeast requests that students give reasonable notice to allow time for any needed accommodation such as equipment, supplies, or a sign language interpreter. The college will respond in a timely fashion.

Interested persons, including individuals with disabilities or organizations representing individuals with disabilities, are invited to submit comments on the college's current services, policies and practices, and effects thereof for students with disabilities.
