The Basics

Logging in

To log into the email system, you need to visit http://outlook.office365.com. You'll see this page.

Login Name and Password

Your Login Name is StarID@Go.MinnState.edu. (Replace StarID with your own StarID, of course.)

Your Password is the same as your StarID password. If you change your StarID password, Office 365 will be updated within about 10 minutes.

Your campus email address is firstname.lastname@my.southeastmn.one. Those folks with longer or compound names may have a slightly different email address. To find out yours, visit the Enroll Page and enter your StarID.

Help! I'm having trouble.

Trouble Logging In

Step 1: Verify your StarID and Password are correct

Step 2: Try using a different browser, Chrome or Firefox

Step 3: Change your StarID Password at the StarID Self Help site (changes may take up to 2 hours to work)

Step 4: Note the error and contact the Southeast Helpdesk (507.453.2408)

Getting help with Office 365

The online help in Office 365 is quite good! You can find the help files by clicking on the question mark at the top-right of Outlook (once you log in).

With Office 365 at Southeast, you get:

  • Free downloads of Microsoft Office Business (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, et al)
  • Online versions Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
  • 1 terabyte of online storage in OneDrive

Note: As an enrolled student of Southeast, you can download and use Microsoft Office for free.You download your Office software right from your Office 365 account.

Forwarding to another email account

If you would like to forward your email to your personal email account, you can do so by following the instructions on the Microsoft website.
