- ISEEK
ISEEK is Minnesota's career, education, and job resource. ISEEK has a job search function that allows you to search by keyword and also to choose from a list of controlled language headings. You may specify a geographical area or search state wide.
- Minnesota's Job Bank
This service is similar to the one above. You may specify region and the type of job and use the service to apply online. You may post your resume online and use it repeatedly.

Your local Workforce Center can help you to find jobs in your area and around the world.

Job Center of Wisconsin is a free, comprehensive job site for those looking for a job in Wisconsin or in bordering communities
National Searches:
- CareerBuilder.com
CareerBuilder matches your talent to job opportunities by searching your resume for key words to match with available jobs. This site also has the more traditional searches: keyword, location, or industry.
- CareerOneStop
Sponsored by the US Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration, this site allows you access to over 1 million jobs, labor market trends and tips, and more.
- Indeed.com
One search. All jobs. This site compiles job postings from thousands of sources and brings them together in one easy to use search engine.
- LinkedIn Jobs
Search for jobs on LinkedIn, and read advice from thought leaders, view presentations, see examples, find experts, and browse other resources on finding a job.
- SimplyHired
SimplyHired has one of the largest job pools of any job search site. This site has a mobile phone app which allows you to quickly apply from your phone.
- Society of Manufacturing Engineers
View and apply to jobs in the manufacturing and trades fields.
How to Use Online Job Searches
- Use both local and national job search websites: This will maximize the prospective jobs you can apply to. When possible, sign up to receive notifications of new job postings. This assures that you keep up with your job hunt!
- Apply as soon as possible! Do not wait until the closing date of the application. Some jobs are only posted for a couple of days, while others are posted for a couple of weeks. The sooner your application is on file, the better.
- Research employers in your field of interest: Research prospective employers and check their company websites for job postings. Some companies do not advertise in large databases, as this can be costly for their company, so researching specific employers accomplishes 2 goals
- You'll be checking for postings on their website that might not be posted anywhere else.
- You'll take the opportunity to determine if the company seems like a good fit for you and your career goals so that when you apply, you know it's a job that you want.
- Track your applications: Keep a log of where you've applied to be certain that you are doing all that you can do to find a job - and also to assure that you're not applying to the same job multiple times. Use this handy tracking tool (download Excel file) for your applications.
- Apply apply apply!!! If you really want a job, you should be applying to multiple jobs per week. You cannot get hired if you don't submit an application, so get your resume out there!
