Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Reporting to the President and serving as a partner to the senior leadership team, the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives is the college's advisor to the President on economic development and opportunities to build institutional capacity and momentum. The incumbent is responsible for leading, implementing, managing, and assessing initiatives that are integral to the mission and strategic forward-movement of the college. This position is responsible for the leadership of projects of key institutional importance, including strategic planning, Minnesota State system initiatives, marketing and communications, workforce education, and institutional advancement. Advancement responsibilities include grants administration, preparing and implementing strategic revenue-generating plans that align with mission-critical needs of the college. The incumbent provides leadership and management to the college foundation. This is a leadership position that will interface with all internal and external stakeholders. 

This position serves as an external connection to the college for business, economic development organizations, industry associations, nonprofit organizations, other universities and colleges, secondary schools (K-12), and local, state, and federal government agencies and related non-governmental organizations, and other constituencies. The position is charged with elevating Southeast's presence and engagement in local, regional, national, and international communities.  Helping to fulfill the organization's vision, mission, and goals, the position is charged with developing supportive broad-based, multi-sector, bi-partisan networks, and partnerships in support of Minnesota State College Southeast. Primary Office Location: This position can be based at either our Winona or Red Wing campus.

College Institutional Effectiveness Officer

This position is responsible for the overall leadership, integration, and implementation of strategic initiatives to deliver institutional transformation through data. The position will lead efforts to create and sustain an accountable, planful, and transparent environment for institutional continuous improvement, accreditation, effectiveness, and quality. Primary Office Location: This position can be based at either our Winona or Red Wing campus.

The position leads the identification, collection, analysis, interpretation, dissemination and reporting of accessible and accurate data in support of data-informed decision-making for strategic institutional and academic program planning, administrative and curriculum program review, assessment/evaluation, accreditation, student learning outcomes and other measures of institutional effectiveness.  This position is responsible for applying advanced knowledge of planning principles, institutional research methodologies, complex statistical analyses, survey design and administration, and best practices of outcome assessment to monitor institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement. 

The position reports to the President and advises senior leadership on policy and practices to sustain a data-informed organizational culture in furtherment of the institution's strategic goals including achievement of equity in educational outcomes by race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, and gender. The position serves as the College's Accreditation Liaison Officer with the Higher Learning Commission.

Staff Positions

Director of Apprenticeships and Dual Training

Provide leadership and oversight of all apprenticeship/dual training/work-based learning offerings at Minnesota State College Southeast.

  • Develop and oversee standardization, yet customization, by industry and program areas while overseeing consistent practices across credit and non-credit programs. Navigating synergy between academic deans, faculty, and industry partners is essential. This includes registered and non-registered Apprenticeships, Dual-Training (PIPELINE), Capstone Projects, and other work-based learning activities.
  • Position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing processes and procedures for each program.
  • Position will recruit businesses and help establish resources to support the development of sustainable partnerships needed for each program to succeed, in coordination with the academic technical programs and Workforce Education (WE) division. Developing and implementing agreements between employer and Southeast is an essential part of program sustainability.
  • Position will also oversee the development and implementation of systems for tracking and reporting data related to student outcomes and other important metrics as well as archiving of all legal and college documents related to apprenticeships, dual training and other related initiatives.

This position functions as the administrative assistant to the Workforce Education department at Minnesota State College Southeast. Under general supervision, the position provides support to the sales team with the goal of meeting and exceeding department sales goals while providing excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.

Campus Security Report

Minnesota State College Southeast recognizes providing the safest environment possible is an integral element of the college's educational mission and annually publishes a Campus Security Report that is available to everyone. This report provides statements of policy for a broad range of safety and security programs including crime prevention programs, reporting crimes, personal safety, community relations, environmental safety, enforcement authority, evacuation procedures, and enforcement authority and response, and a 3-year statistical review of designated crimes on campus.
