Bias Incident Reporting

If you or someone you know has witnessed or been the target of a bias incident, you may fill out the Bias Incident Reporting Form to bring the incident to the attention of the Bias Incident Response Team.

A bias incident includes any discriminatory or hurtful act that appears to be or is perceived by the impacted person to be motivated by:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Creed
  • Religion
  • National origin
  • Sex
  • Gender

  • Age
  • Marital status
  • Disability
  • Public assistance status
  • Veteran status
  • Sexual orientation
  • Familial status

To report an incident, the act does not need to be a crime under any federal, state, or local statutes, nor does it have to violate college policy.

Bias incidents are taken seriously at Minnesota State College Southeast as we commit to ensuring an inclusive campus climate for all.

If you prefer to meet with someone to report an incident or discuss an issue related to bias, please contact Mark Johnson, Vice President of Student Success, at 507-453-1433 or [email protected].

Crimes, including hate crimes and other acts of violence, should be reported immediately to local law enforcement and Chris Cichosz (Director of Security) at 507-457-5555 or [email protected].
