Cash for College - Workforce and Foundation Scholarships Available, Deadline June 30MSC Southeast Foundation and Workforce Development Scholarships available for Fall 2022

Deadline to apply for scholarships is Midnight on June 30

Obtaining a college credential is critical for future career opportunities and total life-time earnings. But the cost of college can be a barrier for many students.

"Don't let your worries about paying for college stand in the way of achieving your goals," said Casie Johnson, Associate Director of Minnesota State College Southeast Foundation. "The Foundation offers many scholarships that can help cover your expenses at MSC Southeast."

Unlike student loans, scholarships never need to be repaid. But you do need to apply for funds. The deadline to apply for Fall 2022 scholarships is June 30, 2022.

Minnesota State College Southeast Foundation Scholarships are available to students in all programs. These awards are based on the student's professional goals, financial need, accomplishments, grade point average, and letters of recommendation. Awards range from $250 to $2500 and can be applied to the cost of tuition, books and fees. Potentially, scholarships can also help offset the cost of transportation and other living expenses.

This year, MSC Southeast will offer a total of 39 Workforce Development Scholarships for $2500 each to eligible students. Funded by the Minnesota State Legislature, and partially matched by MSC Foundation, these scholarships are aimed at students who are pursuing careers in high-demand areas, such as health care, technology, manufacturing, and transportation.

Both MSC Southeast Foundation Scholarships and Workforce Development Scholarships are managed using the same process, so you only need to apply once, using the AwardSpring online system, to be considered for both types of scholarships.

Assistant Director of Financial Aid Pam Zimmerman encouraged students to apply for scholarships and grants.

"If you have financial needs, there are state and federal grants available to qualifying students. Like scholarships, grants never need to be repaid," she said. "Our Financial Aid office is here to help you obtain the support you need to start or continue in college."

For example, the new Minnesota Future Together Grant offers eligible Minnesotans a tuition-free pathway to earning a college credential. Eligible educational programs are focused on healthcare, STEM, business, industry & technology, education, and public service.

The deadline for Fall scholarship applications is June 30, and Fall semester begins on Monday, August 22, 2022. For more information about financial aid, grants, and scholarships, go to www.southeastmn.one/payingforcollege
