Auto Body Collision Technology program awarded master accreditation by National Institute of Automotive Excellence Foundation
The highly-esteemed National Institute of Automotive Excellence Foundation (NATEF) has renewed Southeast Technical's Auto Body Collision Technology program's certification this year, with a master accreditation -- the highest level of achievement recognized by the foundation. The program has been certified in all five areas required for NATEF certification by an industry based review team. NATEF's precise national standards reflect the skills that students must master to excel in the field.
After an intensive self-study, along with an onsite visit lead by a NATEF evaluation team leader, the program was awarded its official status in November. The college was commended for maintaining the program's high standards and continuing to meet industry's needs. "The process ensures us that curriculum and skills students are learning are consistent with what they will see in their line of work every day," states Tom Brandt, Auto Body Collision Technology Instructor.
The automotive service and repair industry has gone through tremendous changes in the last decade. Working on today's cars requires a deeper understanding of the technology that goes into the modern, more sophisticated automobile. This increased sophistication means schools need to stay current to properly educate students to meet industry standards. Accreditation of an automotive training program brings with it program credibility, prestige, recognition, and overall program improvement.
By ensuring training programs meet the highest standards, NATEF accreditation benefits everyone from colleges, students, and future employers, to the automotive service industry and everyone driving on our nation's roads.
