Students in the Nursing program volunteered at the Diabetes Expo held November 13, at Winona Health.  Under the supervision of their Instructor Marty Knauer, over two dozen students assisted by providing blood pressure checks and blood sugar screenings for this public service event. The tests were provided to offer screening-level information to individuals who have diabetes, or are at risk for the disease. The event was sponsored by Winona Health and the Winona Lions club and featured informational breakout sessions with Winona Health Physicians and Registered Dieticians. Marty Knauer said, “It was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn about community service and enhance their classroom learning experience.”
