Geothermal Technology in HVAC Lab

 Permanent link

GeothermalNew technology in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) program at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical  will offer students studying the trade the opportunity to work with “earth-friendly” energy practices with the recent installation of a WaterFurnace, Geo-Thermal Energy System in the training lab. Students in the program are able to learn about temperature control and innovation from a system provided by Scott Freier of Freier’s  Electric, of Ellsworth and Hudson, WI. Freier oversaw the installation by providing labor and direction and the system itself was donated by the WaterFurnace company, a firm he represents.  Not only is Freier a successful business owner, he is also a graduate of the program.

The geo system is one of the latest technologies in the HVAC industry and has been sought after in residential and  commercial use, as a new install or replacement option. The relatively quick payback and efficiency of the system has made this a very popular decision for both home and business use.
