Meet with almost 30 area employers and enjoy a delicious free lunch sponsored by Student Senate. Visit with the vendors and you'll eligible for Target Gift Card drawings! Just sign in at the "Student Check In" table to fill out a student name tag before checking in with the vendors.

Trempealeau Hotel Presents: Open Jam with The Organic Music Cooperative

How many basses, guitars, banjos, ukeleles, mandolins and cajones does it take to fill up the bar at The Hotel? We don't know yet, but we've had more than two dozen players join the open jam at a time. The repertoire ranges from country classics to indie hits and gives each and everyone a chance to play along and learn or take the lead and teach. And if you don't play an instrument, just come for the show --- it's a party.

PaKou Her is Director at 18MR, an AAPI (Asians and Pacific Islanders) online organizing and civic engagement organization building power through social media and tech. She joined 18MR in April 2013, bringing nearly two decades of anti-racism organizing experience and after two years with MoveOn.org. Come to hear her speak more about her organization!

Anderson House Exhibition Opening: Behind Closed Doors by Julie Sirek

The Anderson Center invites you to the opening reception of the exhibition of Behind Closed Doors, featuriing the work of Julie Sirek. Julie Sirek is best identified as an artist with a social conscience. The issue of domestic violence is a constant theme in her work. She believes art is a vehicle capable of creating social awareness and change. Art breaks through barriers, connects across cultural differences, and engages our shared values. She works primarily with paper in conjunction with the process of joomchi. Through her adaptation of this ancient Korean technique, she transforms paper into a unique textile-like material. The artist will lead an informal discussion about her work to raise awareness of the devastating impact of domestic violence.

Join NYC performance director Tatiana Pandiani for this fun and active storytelling & oral history workshop. Story is at the center of performance director Tatiana's practice, beginning at the personal and traveling towards the political. Tatiana makes large scale interdisciplinary performances that create empathy on the on and off the stage, connect us to the past, and remind us of where we're going by drawing from 19th & 20th century history, especially as seen through the lens of womanhood, gender politics, media, and fashion. She specifically seeks out stories that empower women, represent diverse communities and protect their legacies.
