Minnesota State College Southeast is bolstering its psychology and creative writing programs -- part of the school's transition from a strict technical college to a technical and community college.

The school announced this week that students who complete Southeast's Psychology Transfer Pathway -- a two-year, 60-credit program exploring various aspects of psychology -- will be able to transfer their credits to any university in Minnesota State, formerly known as MnSCU.

It also announced the creation of a creative writing certificate program, which brings with it a host of new courses in fiction, nonfiction, poetry and more.

"While Southeast will always be committed to our career and technical programs," said Dorothy Duran, the school's president, "we believe the expansion of our liberal arts and sciences offerings will be a tremendous advantage to students in our region."
