Minnesota State College Southeast expands local engineering by offering new degree, transfers

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) - A special event is celebrating new engineering and technology initiatives in our area.

Minnesota State College Southeast hosted an event on campus Thursday which highlights different degree programs for those interested in engineering. Representatives from different engineering colleges and universities were on site talking to faculty about the new and existing transfer opportunities for students.

One Winona State professor says this is a good idea for students to explore whether or not they want to advance their education.

"Students in the program here can get exposed to what a four-year degree might look like instead of a two-year degree that they are pursuing so that maybe they can say this four year degree is something that I want to pursue further so that when they finish their two year degree they are ready to go and come over WSU and finish a four year degree,” said Winona State University Professor Andy Ferstle.

The agreements signed Thursday with Milwaukee School of Engineering and Winona State University are new to Minnesota State College Southeast.
