WDN: 'Historic day;' Minnesota State Southeast announces new engineering program for high school students

Minnesota State College Southeast announced a program to give high school students a jump start on their careers — in college or in the work force.

At a Thursday ribbon cutting celebration, the college launched their comprehensive engineering and technology capabilities initiative, which includes investments in industrial automation, partnerships with engineering universities, and a high school-to-college credential pipeline.

The prototype engineering certificate program for high school students allows them to take evening courses at Southeast beginning their junior year. By the time they graduate high school, they’ll receive a Minnesota State College Southeast certificate in addition to their high school diploma, allowing them to pursue entry level technical positions right out of high school.
