In recognition of the college's new vision, mission and name, Minnesota State College Southeast (or MSC Southeast for short), is celebrating with special events on Tuesday, August 30 on both the Winona and Red Wing campuses.

- Students are invited to the Welcome Picnic in the Student Commons.
- Students/faculty/staff are invited to sign a large banner announcing the new name.
- Students will receive bright green name change t-shirts (while supplies last).

- The Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce and many area businesses will be on campus for a special event welcoming MSC Southeast students to the Red Wing Community.
- Everyone is invited to sign a large banner announcing the new name.
- Students will receive bright green name change t-shirts (while supplies last).
- At approximately 3:45 pm, a Name Change Ceremony will take place with an official Red Wing Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting and cake will be served.
About the mission and name change:
Minnesota State College Southeast (previously known as Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical), announced on July 22, 2016 approval by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees of a change in mission, allowing the college to offer the associate of arts degree.
- The proper name of the college is: Minnesota State College Southeast
- The tagline is: A Technical and Community College
- Short form of the name: MSC Southeast
- Acronym: MSCS
College signage and branding materials are being changed out as quickly as possible.
