About 120 Scouts were at the 2016 Sugar Loaf Merit Badge Fair at Minnesota State College Southeast in Winona, participating in a variety of activities to earn new badges — and maybe connect with future career options while they were at it.
The Scouts attended classes on welding, woodworking, electricity, automotive maintenance, chemistry, programming, plant science, public health, truck transportation and many others. Troop committee chair Kelly Kluver said the Scouts are required to earn 25 merit badges in order to advance in their rank, and achieve the Eagle Scout merit badge.
