Winona Daily News: WSU hears comments, concerns on plan to put baseball field on Southeast Tech

Winona State University and Southeast Technical College representatives met with residents Tuesday night to pitch a new plan for WSU's baseball field.
WSU, after stepping away from plans last year to build a field in the city-owned Lake Park, now plans to build a field in an open area adjacent to the technical college on Winona's east end.
Over 70 residents, mostly from the neighborhoods near Southeast Tech along Crocus Circle and McNally Drive, sat in the college's main lobby with WSU president Scott Olson as he fielded questions and concerns.
Residents mostly questioned the possible negative effects the plans could have on their neighborhoods, including noise, light, increased traffic or secondary concerns like property values, which they feared would be decreased.
