Workforce development: Making sure employers have the right skills at the right times

In 2013, Cytec Engineered Materials, an international manufacturing firm with facilities in Winona, was looking to expand.

The company had finished an acquisition and was looking to move an aircraft interior line to one of its locations. The company chose Winona for the expansion, a project that would bring 60 high-tech manufacturing jobs to the city. And to help the company's new workers and veterans ease through the transition, Cytec got some help from state and Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical through a $324,00 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant.
