Southeast Technical honors Ryan Kilbride as Outstanding Alumni of the Year, Red Wing Campus

Red Wing, MN (May 12, 2016) -- On Tuesday, May 10, Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical honored Ryan Kilbride as Outstanding Alumni of the Year at its spring Commencement Ceremony, held at Red Wing High School. Ryan graduated from the college in May 2009 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Accounting from the Red Wing Campus, earning a 3.72 GPA.

Ryan counts his education at Southeast Technical, and the guidance of his instructors Lyle Stelter and Patty Weigand, as key to his success. "They were very good instructors and really did a great job of teaching me the ins and outs of accounting. The knowledge that I gained at Southeast Technical would have been enough to keep me going for the rest of my career, but you do need a bachelor's degree to advance." Since graduating from Southeast Technical he continued onward to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from Globe University.

Ryan started his own business, Kilbride Tax LLC, in 2007. He then worked in accounting at Stencil Cutting and Supply in Red Wing and Consolidated Precision Products in Bloomington. He now works at Haworth & Co. Ltd in West St. Paul, where he supervises a staff of five as a Tax and Business Manager.

"We are delighted to recognize Ryan Kilbride for his success in the field of accounting and proud that he got his start right here at Southeast Technical in Red Wing," said Southeast Technical President Dr. Dorothy Duran.

Ryan is married and lives in Hastings, Minnesota, where he and his wife have five children.
