Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical, Winona campus

Winona, MN (March 15, 2016) -- Check out a modern semi-tractor inside and out, see the working parts of automobiles, and experience automotive paint spraying first hand -- these are just a few of the activities that will be available to the public when Southeast Technical's Transportation Programs offer a Career Night on Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The event takes place in the Norris P. Abts Transportation Center on the college's Winona campus, 1250 Homer Road, Winona, MN.

Four college programs will be represented at the event: Auto Body Collision Technology, Automotive Technology, Diesel Maintenance Technician, and Truck Driving. These programs offer certificates, diplomas, and degrees that can lead directly to high-paying, high growth occupations.

"Career Night is much more than an open house where you can tour our state-of-the-art facilities ," says Auto Body Collision Technology instructor Tom Brandt. "There will be industry representatives from all the transportation programs to talk with about career options and opportunities in these high-demand job markets. They will also be able to give current and future students a realistic idea of what transportation careers are like in the workforce."

College student services staff will also be available to assist students in applying to Southeast Technical and the regular $20 application fee will be waived at Transportation Programs Career Night.

Financial aid representatives will be on hand to explain options for paying for college, especially the new Minnesota State Occupational Grant Program, which may make up to two years of tech college available tuition-free to qualifying students now in the high school class of 2016.

Learn more about all of Southeast Technical's Transportation Programs, and meet with their instructors, at Transportation Programs Career Night on March 29.
