Southeast Technical opens Public Online survey to evaluate possible new names at www.southeastmn.one/name

Winona, MN (February 18, 2016) -- Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical has submitted an application to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to offer the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. This would expand the college's mission beyond technical education and allow students to complete a transferable 2-year degree.

If the application to change the mission is successful, the college would need to adapt or change its name to recognize that it will be more than a technical college - it would become a community and technical college.

Through public surveys, almost 80 unique names were put forth by students, faculty, staff, and the general public. A group including faculty, staff, students, and a professional marketing consultant narrowed the list to 5 possible names.

Public Online Survey

The public is invited to take a very brief survey to evaluate to evaluate these 5 names. The link is at: www.southeastmn.one/name. This survey will be available until Sunday, February 21.

In addition, Southeast Technical is opening its doors for Community Open Forums in Winona  on Feb. 22 and Red Wing on Feb. 23 to gather public feedback and ideas.
