Southeast Technical Winona campus to host "Charting the Future" Gallery Walk on March 30

(Winona, MN ) March 11, 2015 -- Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical will host a Charting the Future Gallery Walk on Monday, March 30, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Winona campus Main Lobby. 

Charting the Future for a Prosperous Minnesota is a collaborative process designed by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to develop specific actions to better serve its 435,000 students, strengthen its colleges and universities, and protect its unique character and autonomy. 

The open-house style event is designed to provide students, faculty, staff, and community members the opportunity to react to the concepts and themes proposed by these four Charting the Future implementation teams, which began meeting in Fall 2014: 

 

  • Academic Planning & Collaboration
  • Education Technology
  • Competency Certification & Credit for Prior Learning
  • Information Technology Systems Design

 

Everyone is welcome to attend; representatives will be on hand to answer questions and encourage feedback.

"Gallery Walk" is a term used in education circles to describe a teaching method that gets students out of their seats and moving as they learn about, and respond to, the topic they are studying. In the Charting the Future Gallery Walk, large-format posters prepared by the four implementation teams will be presented in a gallery layout. Visitors can walk through the gallery, ask questions, and provide immediate feedback. The Gallery Walk will be held in the beautiful Main Lobby of Southeast Technical's Winona campus, an inviting, bright space for viewing the posters.
