Southeast Technical Cosmetology student
earns rare opportunity with Salon Spa Professional Association
Winona, MN (April 16, 2014) -- Minnesota State College –
Southeast Technical Cosmetology student Kayla Knospe has been selected to
participate in the Salon Spa Professional
Association's "Students With
Awesome Talent" (SWAT) team.
The SWAT team consists of students enrolled at a licensed
cosmetology school in Minnesota, who will now have the opportunity to work with
masters in their area to advance their technical and artistic skills. The
highlight of the SWAT Team’s involvement is the first-hand platform
artistry experience they receive by participating behind the
scenes at stage shows.
Earning her place on the team through an application and
interview process, Kayla is the first student to achieve this honor in the
history of Southeast Technical Cosmetology program. "This experience will expose Kayla to
additional parts of the cosmetology industry in artistry and platform work, and
will be a great networking opportunity as well," states Cosmetology Instructor
Jodi Heim.
Kayla adds, "I'm looking forward to learning new techniques
and gaining confidence to further my education." Kayla will participate in workshops and shows
during the next eight months.
The Salon & Spa Professional Association is a community
of salon professionals in the Upper Midwest connected by a common passion for
learning, growing and raising the professionalism of the entire salon industry. For more information, visit www.sspatoday.com
