Red Wing Republican Eagle: Duran named new Southeast Tech president

Dorothy Duran has been named the new president of Minnesota State College–Southeast Technical. Duran, who was announced at Wednesday's Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees meeting, will take over July 1 for retiring President Jim Johnson.

"It's so exciting. I am so thrilled to be here because I share in your vision," Duran said to a room of faculty, staff and students at the Red Wing campus Thursday afternoon. Read the full story >>


Winona Daily News: 'New blood is a good thing': Duran warmly welcomed at Southeast Tech

Dorothy Duran might not be taking over as the new Southeast Technical College leader until summer, but the president-elect received a warm welcome from the Winona community Thursday morning during her first visit in her new role. "I'm absolutely pleased that Dr. Duran will be taking over for me," retiring Southeast Tech president Jim Johnson said. Winona Post: Duran chosen as new SE Tech president

The newly appointed president of Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical, Dr. Dorothy Duran, made her first public appearance as the next college president at the technical school's Winona campus last Thursday morning. Speaking to a sizable crowd that included the mayor and Duran's predecessor, Jim Johnson, Duran spoke about how she was humbled to be named Johnson's successor and spoke about where she hopes to take the college in the future.

"There is a lot of work ahead of us, and I welcome the opportunity to serve with you," Duran said, addressing the lecture hall. Read the full story >>
