Southeast Technical offers Drivers Education for Youth in October 2013

Winona, Minn. (September 24, 2013) - Starting on October 7, area students can begin the fall Drivers Education for Youth program at Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical. The course consists of 14 sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The curriculum follows the training requirements for Driver Education as published by the Department of Public Safety and engages local teachers who average at least 25 years of experience teaching Winona area students how to drive.

"Our goal is to provide new drivers with the skills, knowledge, motivation, and insight to become safe and responsible drivers," says instructor Michael Meurer. "We've also added a new feature this year, a Parent's Night where parents and students will attend together and a Minnesota State Patrol Officer will talk with the group and answer questions."

Classes meet: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Dates: 14 sessions starting October 7, 2013, ending November 14, 2013 (No class on October 17, October 31, November 11)
