Dr. Carrie Travis appointed Dean of Nursing and Allied Health at Minnesota State College Southeast
Winona and Red Wing, MN (February 27, 2024) -- Minnesota State College Southeast is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carrie Travis as the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. Since joining the leadership team at Southeast in May 2023, Dr. Travis had previously served as the college's Interim Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.
"We are confident that Dr. Travis will continue to offer strategic leadership in providing quality educational programs and that her enthusiasm, innovative spirit, and expertise will further the success of our team," said Dr. Marsha Danielson, President of Minnesota State College Southeast. "We value the contributions she has made in the interim role and are excited to see her great ideas for growth come to fruition as the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health."

Dr. Travis comes to Southeast with over 17 years of experience designing and delivering healthcare-related education in clinical and classroom settings and seven years of experience coordinating program assessment and accreditation activities in college and university settings.
She previously served on the nursing faculty at Winona State University from 2011-2023 and as adjunct nursing faculty at Minnesota State College Southeast from 2006-2018.
She has 28 years of experience as a registered nurse in a variety of healthcare settings, specializing in community programming, grant writing, and population health. She is a member of the National League for Nurses (NLN) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). She is also the founder and CEO of "Bright and Kind RN," a consulting company that advises school districts providing health services to differently abled learners.
A dedicated volunteer, she has served as President and Vice President of the Executive Board of Coulee Recovery Center in La Crosse, WI; as a member of the Quality Assurance committee for A.B.L.E. Group Homes in La Crescent, MN, and is an active Rotarian in Holmen, WI.
A certified nurse educator, Carrie Travis holds a bachelor of science in Nursing from Winona State University and a master's degree in Nursing Education from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. She earned a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from St. Cloud State University.
