MSC Southeast's Lisa Pozanc Recognized for Outstanding Work at the Minnesota State 2021 Finance Virtual Conference

Lisa PozancWinona, MN (December 17, 2021) - On December 2, employees throughout the Minnesota State system were recognized for outstanding work during the 2021 Minnesota State Virtual Finance Conference.

Lisa Pozanc, Director of Business Services at Minnesota State College Southeast, was one of three individuals statewide who were presented with the Outstanding Service Award.

"These individuals, along with the teams they work with, are outstanding examples of the hard work and commitment that goes into serving students during these extraordinary times," said Bill Maki, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Facilities of Minnesota State. "Though often behind the scenes, the work done by these individuals and their colleagues has a dramatic impact on the operations of our colleges and universities and the success of our students."

"In the past year, Lisa demonstrated excellence in customer service by making sure critical finance functions continued during turnover at the college," said Amy Schmidt, MSC Southeast Vice President of Finance and Administration. "When my predecessor retired, Lisa took on his day-to-day duties for a period of four months, balancing the duties of both positions during a stressful time when the staff she supervised were working remotely and dealing with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Originally from Brewster, MN, Lisa Pozanc has lived in the Winona area since 1987 and worked at the college for more than 22 years. She earned an associate degree in accounting at MSC Southeast in 1999 and said, "I received the best education at this college because of the instructors I had!"

She began her career at the college as a work study in the business office, then was hired as an account clerk. She received a bachelor of science in business administration from Metropolitan State in 2014 and was promoted to her present position as Director of Business Services in 2019.

In nominating Lisa Pozanc for the award, Amy Schmidt noted Lisa's ability to research and find solutions to complicated financial issues.

"Lisa Pozanc has demonstrated outstanding contributions in budget development and monitoring. Her oversight of the college's finances has helped Minnesota State College Southeast grow its fund balance and put the college on a better financial path," Amy Schmidt said.
