Winona Daily News: Area high schoolers mix with local businesses at Winona's Career Expo

The scene inside Minnesota State College Southeast on Friday was just about as crazy as one would expect, as 1,500 high school sophomores descended on the college for the fifth-annual Student Career Expo put on by the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce.

But for Della Schmidt, president of the Chamber, the explosion of noise and energy was a good thing. It meant the students were having fun.

"My favorite part is providing the opportunity for students to have a 'see, touch, do' career exploration experience," she said. "The idea is to let the students really get a glimpse into what it would be like to have this kind of career."
