Post-Bulletin: Colleges look to be partners, not competitors

Four Southeast Minnesota colleges are working together to "regionalize" the delivery of higher education in the region.

Call it the higher education equivalent of "Miracle on 34th Street."

In the timeless movie tale, two warring department stores, Macy's and Gimbels, call a truce and discover that working together makes more business sense than fighting over every dollar.

In the regionalization model, Rochester Community and Technical College would contract with Winona State University, Riverland Community College or Minnesota State College Southeast if a business requests training that it doesn't offer.
