4th Annual Boy Scouts Sugar Loaf District Merit Badge Fair at MSC Southeast in Winona Sept. 29

Winona, MN (September 17, 2018) --- On Saturday, September 29, Minnesota State College Southeast will host the Fourth Annual Boy Scouts of America Sugar Loaf District Merit Badge Fair. The full-day event will be held on the college's Winona campus (1250 Homer Road, Winona).

The Boy Scout Merit Badge Fair is an opportunity for Boy Scouts from all around Southeastern Minnesota to earn merit badges, helping them progress toward their goal of achieving the Eagle Scout award.  

The day begins with a Flag Ceremony by the Order of the Arrow at 8 am. Morning merit badge classes run from 8:30 am to noon, and afternoon classes are from 1 to 4:30 pm. The closing ceremony takes place from 4:30 to 5:00 pm.

Kelly Kluver and David Echelard from Minnesota State College Southeast serve as coordinators for the Merit Badge Fair. "It's great seeing so many young people come to our college campus to work together on positive goals," comments David Echelard. "With the support of the Gamehaven Council of the Boy Scouts and a great many volunteers, the Merit Badge Fair keeps getting bigger and better every year."

There will be a wide variety of Merit Badges offered. MSC instructors and others will teach:

·         Robotics

·         Salesmanship

·         Truck Transportation

·         Welding

·         Woodworking
