Winona Post: MSC Southeast DECA chapter qualifies for nationals in Washington, D.C.

The Minnesota State College Southeast chapter of DECA recently participated in the State Career Development Conference (SCDC) on February 15-16, 2018, in Minnetonka, Minn., and the students successfully qualified to go on nationals in Washington, D.C., from April 11-14, 2018.

DECA is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, sales, and management.

Participation in DECA is an excellent way to improve personal growth, network, and bridge the gap between school and the real world.

WDN: MSC Southeast students fundraising for Washington D.C. trip

The DECA chapter at Minnesota State College Southeast recently participated in the State Career Development Conference in Minnetonka, with students qualifying for nationals April 11 through 14 in Washington, D.C.

At the state conference in February, 10 Southeast students competed in single and team events focused on a variety of topics, including professional sales, business-to-business marketing and event planning.

Eight students qualified for nationals -- a trip for which Southeast's chapter of DECA, which seeks to train young leaders in a variety of fields, will have to fundraise.
